Mixed Media ICAD 2022

This year marks the 4th year that I will have participated in ICAD in full and it is the 3rd year that I will be providing Mixed Media Prompts for ICAD. You can see all the prior years mixed media ICADs by heading over to Instagram and searching under the yearly hastags mixedmediaicad then the year. Such as:

I’m getting a bit ahead of myself. If you are not familiar with what ICAD is let me back track a bit and explain what ICAD is:

ICAD stands for Index Card A Day. It is a daily prompt art challenge done yearly. It is 61 days long (June 1st-July 31st). Tammy Garcia over at Daisy Yellow Art started ICAD. She started it 11 years ago and it has bloomed into the phenomenon we love today. So, to participate in ICAD all you need to do is create daily art on index cards (in one of the three standard size’s (3″ x 5″, 4″ x 6″ or 5″ x 7″) or you can do the fun alteration and work on rolodex cards instead. Tammy has put out wonderful lists of prompts and in 2020, I decided I needed prompts specific to Mixed Media. I then shared the prompts out for anyone who wanted to follow along. It was so much fun to see everyone’s different interpretation of the prompts.

Over the last two years I also videotaped some of my daily sessions. You can see the video playlists over on my YouTube channel here:

These are some of my favorite Mixed Media ICAD’s from 2021:

I’m back and ready to post Mixed Media ICAD 2022 prompts for this year’s ICAD. This year I will again be using the Joggles 3″ x 5″ Watercolor Index Cards for my daily submissions. They really proved to be the perfect substrate for ICAD. I will once again be posting the prompts 1 week in advanced both on Instagram and on my YouTube channel. Here is the first week of prompts for MMICAD2022.

I always look forward to the Mixed Media ICAD Challenge. I have found that it really jump starts my creativity juices. It also offers me the opportunity to experiment and learn new yummy ways of doing things. It’s a seriously investigative opportunity that creates daily arting moments which has been so important to my own process.
